In the past 13 years, I worked extensively with After Effects and Blender for motion design. I take great pride in the structure and readability of my project files as well as interoperation with Premiere Pro for smooth collaboration. Projects here are obfuscated, and some are completely reduced to wireframes. Feel free to contact me so we can take a closer look at the projects together.

After Effects Animation

Interface animation: During my time at denkwerk, I have animated many interfaces, many for pitches that would later be actual products or services. Other interface animation would be for case studies, representing denkwerk or client projects.

Blender Animation

Character rig and animation: This rig was created for a series of social media animations. Each clip was around 30-40 seconds of limited but expressive character animation. For quick and precise results, the lip-sync animation is automated via Rhubarb for Blender. Working with Rhubarb has been nice: I created a combination of shapekey and bone deformations that are driven by a single bone in the rig. Only this control bone is then animated via the automated data from Rhubarb. This setup has allowed the team to easily integrate script and voice-over changes late in the production of each clip.

Adaptable Motion Graphics in Blender, created in combination with Figma and After Effects. For easy interoperability between Blender and After Effects, I tend to build setups that use *.PNG exports from Figma. With this, I can make sure that the font rendering and other design elements are perfectly transferred between applications. Blender’s geometry nodes system allows for procedural grid distributions and other motion graphic staples. I have created a library of often-used systems and handy operators to speed up the process.
